Wentworth Preparatory School - Private School Toronto

Wentworth Outdoor Leadership Focus

We boast one of the most comprehensive and mandatory Outdoor Education Programs in the province. Our experiential learning plans include:

  • Monthly daylong visits to our Outdoor Education campus to explore our natural world and apply classroom theories to real life learning.
  • Grade 4 outdoor adventure trip to overnight camp facility.
  • Grade 6 outdoor adventure camping trip.
  • Grade 8 international adventure trip to a Spanish speaking country.

Enhancing our high academic standards in the classroom, field trips are a regular part of our curriculum. It is our strong belief that children are born curious about nature and deserve to learn first hand the theories being taught in the classroom. The goal of the program is to add value to the students’ academic endeavors by providing a variety of experiences that challenge them to be knowledge-seeking students and to instill a respect and love for the natural world.

WOLF bases its curriculum on four elements: Leadership, Experience, Knowledge and Development.

Students learn to become stewards for the environment and how to minimize their footprint on earth. WOLF provides a safe and encouraging environment for our students to step outside of their comfort zone and embrace academic subjects from a new perspective. WOLF is all about helping our students develop their self-esteem to become confident individuals with valuable contributions to their school, their community and the world. The goal is for students to show commitment to their education, development of their character, and achievement of many new skills.
