Math and Science at Wentworth:

Math will be emphasized at our school through regular classroom study and enriched through our morning math drills and games. Using the Ministry guideline as a base level for study and understanding, Wentworth will cover the units outlined by the Ministry but the level of intensity is indicative of more advanced studies. Unique to Wentworth is our mandate to apply classroom theory to outdoor reality. Our students will have many opportunities to apply their math skills to real life experiences.

We believe strongly that children should have the opportunity to explore science at a young age and relate concepts learned in the classroom to real life evidence. Our students will explore the natural world on our monthly field trips to the Green Acres Outdoor Education site and apply concepts learned in the classroom to the natural environment. We hope to engage our young scientists in hands on science by using fun and constructive projects such as rocket building and launches to test scientific theory.
